Like the #climateweekNYC before it, the overall vibes at Greenbuild were #positive, #energetic, and #ambitious. Yet, acknowledging the reality that collectively there’s more to be done and to be fixed. That was a good #grounding.
My personal takeaways & Observations
- #Fresh_Blood: for many this was their first Greenbuild. They brought fresh stream of perspectives, collaborative energy, and a reminder that his movement has more to offer.
- #Resileincy: building for resiliency is on the verge of becoming the new norm and goal. I personally believe it’s THE core principle that a just and inclusive movement can rally behind for the coming decades.
- #Impact: holistically communicating impact is not an easy task but it’s essential to meet our stakeholders where they care.
- # Green_Buildings_Certifications: it was clear that the 30 years old certification model is due for an overhaul to be fit for purpose (delivering resiliency and communicating impact at scale).
- #Tech & #Data: There is lots of efforts to harness data and create bespoke #Data_Lakes but little is being offered on how it can inform decisions making.
🌟 reconnecting with #friends is #invaluable and returning home with new friendships is a #joy. I returned back with an asserted belief that we can do more meaningfully and purposefully.
